2010年代以降のジャズシーンにおいて、最も刺激的で新たな発見をもたらすサックス奏者Sam Gendelと、ベーシストSam Wilkesによる共同名義の第1作。まるで液体の動きを眺めるような、浮遊する揺らぎを持つSam Gendelの変形的なサックスの音色と、柔らかく反復するSam Wilkesのベース音が混じり合い、これまでに聴いたことのないジャズが生まれた。二人の自由なセッションによって、その音楽はまるでアンビエントや電子音楽、ヒップホップのように響く。2010年代の後半にまだこんな表現が生まれるとは。これだから音楽はあまりにも楽しい。

The first collaborative album by Sam Gendel, one of the most exciting and endlessly surprising saxophonists to emerge in the jazz scene since the 2010s, and bassist Sam Wilkes. Gendel's strangely warped saxophone tones, floating and undulating like liquid in motion, intertwine with Wilkes's soft, gently repeating bass lines to create a kind of jazz unlike anything I've heard before. Through their free-flowing sessions, the music takes on the qualities of ambient, electronic music, and even hip-hop. Who would have thought that such a new form of expression could still emerge in the late 2010s? This is exactly why music is so endlessly exciting.
